Draught at Gather Boston, 2/4/17.
Light blonde, very slight haze to it with a small, white head atop of moderate retention.
The nose leans nicely towards a more traditional saison, without any big American hop notes, though you’re certainly not going to mistake this for Dupont or Blaugies. Predominantly pepper, dough, honey and mild yellow fruit-like esters with light cereal grain and low on the unwanted stuff (clove, banana, bubble gum). No alcohol or flaw.
Light and fairly dry in the mouth with more honey, dough and light black pepper. Apple, nectarine and light grassiness on the end with low but fairly engaging carbonation and a soft, malty texture with no alcohol or flaw.

Dear at District Tap House. Unclear pale yellow color, white head, lots of streaky lacing. Lemon pledge and peppery spice. Some wheat notes. Grains. A good bit of farmhouse funk. Finishes decently dry, with a lively carbonation. Could definitely come back to this happily, but I prefer just a little less of a prickly carbonation in this style.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is wheaty, hay, light fruitiness. Taste is very farmhouse. Not very bitter. Low sweetness. Very soft body. Pretty good.
