Based on wheat malt, Tumulus Nera is a triple wheat stout and a perfect marriage between the Anglo-Saxon stout and the Belgian-style triple beers. The natural black colour (218 EBC) is created solely by the use of roasted malts. Like all other Tumulus beers, Tumulus Nera is a full-malt beer brewed in accordance with the demanding rules of the “Reinheitsgebot”. A noble hop is used for the hopping of this black beer leading to a final bitterness of 45 EBU. Tumulus Nera is a top fermented beer with refermentation in the bottle.

Bottle at Vilvordia. Almost black, brown head, solid lacing. Aroma of toasted cocoa. Taste is very roasty and rich. Nice stuff.

Bottle @ VBPF’12 Brune claire, col beige.

Very good bitter stout. Tastes of coffee, chocolat, a bit creamy. Deep dark color with brown foam. Not sweet and a good aftertaste.
