Bottle at Wakefest. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong wood, bourbon, dark fruit, cane sugar. Slick body, intense sweetness, cocoa, pure sugar, boozy finish, very good.

Bottle shared in Buffalo - thanks to drsandman. Pours clear black-brown with a frothy, tan head. Plenty of burnt toffee in the nose, moderate roast, dried berries. Medium to big sweet with moderate booze, oily vanilla, some more dried fruits, dates. Full bodied, finely carbonated, chewy. Warming finish, some gooey chocolate, more toffee, vanilla, alcohol, figs. Good stuff.

At the source: pours black with frighteningly little head... looks basically flat. Aroma is whiskey, vanilla and chocolate (did I say whiskey, I meant bourbon... whatever). Taste is sweet and chocolatey. Finish is a combination of hop bitterness and booze. Super low carbonation does not really make for the best mouthfeel. Meh.
