If you are in the mood for something wildly unique and interesting, this sour, smoked Gose is for you. We used oak and beechwood smoked malts, along with a fair amount of wheat malt, Hallertau hops and hickory smoked salt. Not many beers out there combine flavors of puckering sour, smoke and salt. For limited pub release.

Waxed bomber from the Portland venue. Pours translucent gold with an off-white head. Aroma is mysterious - made me think of cedar pencil shavings - but is more smoky in a moderate way - interesting. Flavor is dry, smoky, somewhat salty. Very lightly sour. Lots of flavor. Iβm liking it.

Sampled from the tap at ABR 2016. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a touch smoke with some light tart fruits and earthy wheat underlying. Flavor starts with tart lemon with earthy wheat and smoke in the finish.

On tap at Deschutes, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out nicely smoked malts and just a touch of salt. Flavour is really nice, with campfire smoke and salt outbidding each other. The notes kind of clash, but it works somehow. Slight tartness and lots of saltiness on the finish. Really enjoyable.

Draft - Light campfire and wheat. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Smoke soured malt and aggressive salting. Disjointed but wonderful.

12 oz goblet at the Deschutes Public House in Portland, Oregon. The pour is a hazed golden with a small white head. The aroma is salt, smoke and some meaty bacon. The taste is strong, almost sweaty, wood, salt and a tartness that is pretty strong. All together, tons going on and really interesting. The bright sour, funk, salt and smoke is a pretty weird combination but works. The palate is light to medium bodied with lower carbonation and the smoke, salt, tart citrus finish. Fun one.
