Cask at the source: pours orange with a small head. Aroma is oakey, hints of wine, loads of funk. Taste is moderately sour. Woody. Earthy. Funky. Interesting.

On cask at The Referend, pours a clear pale golden blonde, no head. Aroma brings out lots of musty notes, with horse blanket, and some funk. Flavour is bit metallic, with horse blanket, musty funk and a bit of soap. Pretty close to authentic, but there is a sort of dirty water character in there that is throwing it off.

Cask at brewery. I think this is the second time I am trying this. Cask pour into lambic shaker, 11oz. Flat pour, low carbed. So, that part is authentico. Aroma is very orange marmalade vinegar, not very vinegary but a mild marmalade vinegar. Pretty authentic smelling, not sure I could pick this out bling as not a true lambic. A little cork, a light Brett horseblanket. A little lemon peel. Mouthfeel is flat with a little sparkle but that's expected for style. Or maybe the sourness makes me think it's lightly carbonated. Dries you out a bit. It's not bad acetic sourness, just a strong lambic with grapefruit skins. That sort of thing. I think these guys are nailing spontaneous fermentation.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear yellow gold with minimal, white froth on top. The nose holds light wood, lemon, a little musty hay, moderate funk. Lightly sweet with good acidity, moderate woody dryness, grassy hops and mellow bitterness, mild lemony tang. Light bodied and soft. Great balance in the finish, with further woody dryness and lemony acidity, along with nips of juicy citrus, cleansing grassy bitterness. Outstanding.

Cask at brewery. Still pour golden coloration. Nose is barnyard funk. Tastes of barnyard, white wine, lemony citrus, touch of vanilla and woody. Funky for sure. Nice example.
