Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors.

The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil.

Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate.

The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base.

Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

Hop: Chinook, Kent Golding

Malt: Pale, Crystal, Black, Chocolate
Others: Roasted Barley, Coffee beans
SRM: 100

Smell of red wine, raisins, licorice. Black colour, dark brown head. Aroma of coffee, raisins, cocoa, tar. Bitter and sweet. Surprisingly not oily. Very heavy, long finish.

Bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! Pours a good black, but the head doesn’t hang around. Aromas are coffee, chocolate, as expected. Taste has something metallic I’m not liking. Overall - not a bad beer, but the worst this brewery has to offer.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium creamy tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is coffee bean and roasted chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with light roast, chocolate, and light dry finish. Very impressive stout.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks zvikar. Black-colored, not completely opaque, with a light brown head. Nice strong coffee aroma. Bittersweet flavor, a bit acidic, with lots of coffee and a dry roasty finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

24.05.2013, 0,35l bottle shared with Palme @ Øltorget, Mathallen:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is heavy espresso, grass, chili, licorice, caramel, cocoa. Taste is a little flat and watery, strong coffee, caramel, grass, chili, licorice, cocoa. Medium bitterness. Nice one, but the taste doesn’t really live up to the aroma.

Draft @ Meadhall, Cambridge, MA. Served in a 10 oz. Hitachino Nest glass. This is a stout I could drink until I can’t stand up. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and deep, strong espresso. The smell really leads to the rich flavors. Flavors of rich espresso beans, bitter chocolate, long lingering roasted malts, and some burnt sugar. Medium to full body. The palate is creamy and smooth. I hate to use the tired term “feels like velvet” but… it really is smooth and silky. Coffee stout lovers should seek this out on draft. Don’t trust some of the bottles that sit around on the shelves of some beer shops.Get this bad boy fresh, it is delightful!
