The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil.
Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate.
The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base.
Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.
Hop: Chinook, Kent Golding
Malt: Pale, Crystal, Black, Chocolate
Others: Roasted Barley, Coffee beans

11.2oz bottle as part of a delivery from HoTM, York and drunk at home. Dark, dark brown with a quickly dissipating brown head. Sweet coffee syrup, almost like Camp Coffee, with tar and stone fruit on the nose. Sweet and syrupy at first but turning extremely bitter as you get to the bottom of the sip. Long bitter finish, maybe a touch of liquorice among the coffee and plum. Oily and thick with soft-ish carbonation. An experience!

Poured from 330mL bottle (stamped es.21.04f). Dark brown with beige head. Espresso, light roast and chocolate, mild notes of dark fruits. The flavour balance is quite nice.

Deep dark color and a tan head. Nose is vanilla, dark berries and chocolate. Very nice balance of dark coffee and chocolate.
Schmeckt mehr nach Kaffee als Kaffee. Sehr lecker.

330ml bottle: BBE Apr 2021. Drank at home on 2nd Oct 2020. Black bodied, tanned crown on top. Coffee esters and flavours rule the aroma and taste, dark chocolate notes too. Nice malty Stout!

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of cola, roasted malts, and black coffee. Flavors of sweet coffee, roasted malts and some dark dark fruit.
