The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil.
Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate.
The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base.
Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.
Hop: Chinook, Kent Golding
Malt: Pale, Crystal, Black, Chocolate
Others: Roasted Barley, Coffee beans

Bottle, 330 ml, courtesy of and shared with Cajt guys. Black with beige head. Roasted, some coffee, chocolate, sweetish with bitter finish. Bit watery. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle. Near black pour, cola colored, light beige head fades. Sweet, roasty aroma, coffee. Taste also features coffee, light roast, minor sweetness. Finishes dry, light stickiness.

33cl bottle from Cora in Brussels. F: medium, dark tanned, quick gone. C: black, opaque. A: rich malty, roasted tones, dark fruits, chocolate, cocoa, bit smoky, dark caramel. T: medium malty base, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, bit smoky, caramel, dark dried fruits, soft carbonation, dry on the palate, soft carbonation, very nice balanced, fully enjoyed.

Fles gekocht in Luxemburg, geprobeerd met Roelzie1986. Het is een donker zwart bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een gebrande koffie achtige geur. De smaak is gebrande koffie, chocolade en bitter.

Tap at True Brew Mito. Black coloured with small golden head with big bubbles. Aroma is smoky, lots of coffee and cocoa. Taste is espresso. Lots of bitterness, particularly at the end. Totally roasty. Nice oliy texture and pleasant spritziness. Hints of caramel in the taste once you get used to the bitterness, and a bit of smooth milk chocolate too. Lovely.

Bottle, thanks PotjeBier! Deep dark brown color. Malt, indeed espresso and a hint of cacao in the aroma. Malty sweet, soft roasty espresso flavor with a hint of licorice. Raisin. Pleasant.
