Bottled. A pitch black beer with lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque black - perhaps a vague tint of orange - and a tiny, tiny rough off-white head. Sweet whisky aroma - quite enjoyable. Medium body only, roast and minerals. Completely flat. Boozy, perfumy, sweet whisky accents. Ends very, very hot. I somehow doubt that Fleurac manages ice-distilling. Booze added? 071112

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a fully gone head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy and dense dark malty. Flat malty, minerals, vanilla and alcohol. Dark malty, minerals and breadish. Alcohol and dark malty to light fruity. Alcohol dense finish.

Flat as a pancake, black beer. Chocolate, blackcurrant liqueur, brandy or Bourbon, earthy. Fantastic nose - but lifeless. Bourbona, hot chocolate with brandy, again blackcurrant or blackberry. Black & milkchocolate. Bitterish with a bit of alcoholsweetness in the end. Fla-a-at... and it makes it too thin, Alcoholheat. Sure this is spiritlagered, with a lot of the spirit still there. The price is a tad ridiculous, however.

Bottle from Cave a Bulles. Pours dark brown with no head. Smells like whiskey barrels - single malt. Full bodied. It’s peaty in a mild way, or maybe not so mild. Dark malt. It’s really strongly flavored. Heat is not bothersome - fits the beer.

Dark brown color, with no head and no carbonation. Aroma of tobacco and leather; malt; very nice. Oily mouthfeel; good flavor of malt and roasted malts; quite strong liquorice too, with a hint of tobacco and cookies; the alcohol can be perceived somehow, in the nose, but it’s well hidden, and below the expectations (fears); strong bitterness. In the final, there is a strange astringency or dryness on the tongue. And eventually it turns into some of the Bitter Italian digestives (herbal, bitter and strong).
Not bad; I had more daring ones though.
Grossly overprized.

Nicht karbonisierter, etweas scharfer Beginn mit zunehmender aber permanent niedrig gehaltener Hopfigkeit. Herb, erstaunlich wenig alkoholisch, erst zum Ende wenig bitter. 9/7/9/7//7

Small sample draft // Fleurac tasting @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // 50/50 blend of black & brown triple IPA, icebocked // (a) mahogany black with only tanned bubbles clinging to the side // (s) the nose on this is pretty damn great but har to describe, liquorish malts, fruity black liquorish drops, hints of liqueur, deep dark fruits, candy, caramel, touch medicinal // (t) sweet liquorish, malt mixed with quite a bit of spices, flavour is low upfront, coming into play in the medium long finish, in the back, sweet liquorish (enjoyable that is for sure) roasted malts, bitter cocoa, dark fruits, black liquorish, chocolate, malt, quite nice, small hits of old wood & playful alcoholic finish that works great, very lightly bitter // (b) body is quite oily // good, not bad at all but not amazing but a good try, desert treat // small sample probably works best, if price was lower, a bottle might be worth considering, not essential fare at the price, safe for a tick perhaps to split with reasonable amount of people
