Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. 355ml bottle. Pours a clear dark red with a small, creamy, long lasting, pink head that laces. Sweet aroma of raspberry and light Belgian yeast. Sweet flavour of raspberry, mild Belgian yeast and alcohol in a dry, tart, slight acidic finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nicely done. An excellent fruit beer.

Bottle. Pink pour. Aroma of yeast ester , sweet raspberry, malt and strawberry. Taste has sweet strawberry, raspberry, subtle tart, yeast ester, malt, sugar and fruit core. Not bad, nice fruit beer.

Mørk rød klar med lavt beige skum. Lukter røde bær, bringebær og roseblader. Fyldig. Søt smak, røde bær, kirsebær, bringebær, lett sur lime og noe drueskall og alkohol. Middels lang.

Mar 18, 2026 (8/3/8/3/15=3.7): Poured from 355mL bottle (abv listed 9.2% abv; 20 IBUs; thanks Peter). Hazed copper orange with minimal off white head. Lots of raspberry juice, very juicy, decent. Same rating. Abv very hidden - dangerous!
May 13, 2019 (8/3/8/3/15=3.7): Poured from the tap. Amber red with off white head. Fresh raspberry aroma, juicy raspberry juice taste, medium sweetness. Flavourful, but tiny bit too sweet without being artificial.

Flaska från SB. Klarröd med rosavit krona. Doftar hallonsoda och fyllig hallonbål. Mellanstor plus kropp. Smakar hallon, hallonsoda, lite stallighet och gräsighet, en viss belgoton som drar åt en tripel. Tänk typ en hallontripel. Sött och lite vuxenläsk utan att bli för sött, men kanske inget att dricka mängder av. Kul att återvända till, men smakade bättre första gången för många år sen.

Sometimes I understand a friend of mine. This is not beer. This is a raspberry drink. Well so what. It was a really lovely evening sipper. Thought (hoped) it should be a more thick oily texture. Felt a bit thin for a beer a this level. Pleasant refreshing acidity and a fine carbonation level. One more please. [Bottle from Systembolaget Nordstan in Gothenburg, Sweden]
