Belgian-Style Ale Fermented with Pure Raspberries

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

Bomber shared at home. Clear bright reddish pink with light pink head. Lots of sweet raspberries, grassy, sweet grains, light German hops. Really not much else. Very sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied with sticky feel.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours red with a creamy whitish head. Aroma is a lot of tart raspberry. Taste is raspberry with a sort of Belgiam background. A bit syrupy. A little bit on the sweet side. Some tartness. Strong aftertaste.

Bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen, 2015 version. Slightly hazy, red amber with a tan head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of raspberries, sweet cherries, rose hips and some vanilla. Sweetish, slightly sourish and fruity taste of raspberries, strawberries, sweet cherries and almond, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very nice!

Thank you for sharing ElManana+1! 660 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG V. 2015 version. Pours a very deep raspberry pink, little pink head. Nose is huge raspberry jam, syrup, similar akin to cheap raspberry cookie filling. Taste is same cheap raspberry cookie filling & raspberry jam, very sweet,… Solid body. This is more akin to candy than actual fruit, I like it but it is also a bit too candy & artificial-like to fuly embrace & like but I did enjoy it.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2016. A bit hazy reddish color, virtually no head. Sweetish, floral aroma. Taste red fruit, raspberry, perfumy again and tart. Don’t like it. Definitely couldn’t finish a bottle on my own.
