Can (3/3/25) from the taproom. Virtually opaque dark brown with tons of sparkle, ample head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong vanilla, maple and cinnamon over Mexican coffee. Taste is strong maple and sweet vanilla over cacao nibs, cinnamon, late coffee. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol warmth, finish as taste. Overall, excellent strength and complexity. Gets a tad sweet. It would be fantastic to get this in a bourbon barrel!

Can from Cugino's. 2022 version. Cloudy black, thinning, beige head. Aroma of vanilla bean, cinnamon stick, espresso, fondant, burnt pancake, tonka bean, liqueur. Taste has sweet date in a thick dark-chocolatey malt body; creamy vanilla, some syrup and spicy clove & cinnamon notes. Earthy hoppy finish offers bitter espresso, maple syrup, wood and almost something resinous, some warming brandy-like alcohol too. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Tasty for sure, but rather heavy to drink and not very elegant.

16oz can pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is big over powering cinnamon roast malts chocolate and some coffee. Taste is more of the sweet chocolate roast malts big cinnamon.

16oz can at share. Black pour, ring of beige head. Aroma is cloying and sweet, cinnamon. Taste is an overwhelming burst of cinnamon, clove and chocolate that really wipes out the palate. Ouch!

750ml bottle. [Rather late breakfast for me - last beer of the evening]. Jet black colour with late awaking, average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing head, whose initially differentiated, almost geologically ordered layers exposing a spectrum from beige to dark brown coalesce into homogeneous tan. Concentrated, roasty, chocolately, dark malty and spicy aroma, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, cinnamon, hints of maple syrup and vanilla, some treacle, peppery spicy hints of chili tickle close to the edge of errhine. Taste is concentrated, roasty and chocolately dark malty, spicy, notes of coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, cinnamon, hints of vanilla and maple syrup, Mexican chocolate, a peppery spicy touch of chili, some hop bitterness. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft, silky palate, lingering, minimally cloying finish. Simultaneously rich, intense and exuberant as well as bridled, disciplined and focussed, superbly balanced. Somehow an easy-going accession to the complex world of Impy Stouts like Mozart's No. 40 to the world of symphonies: catchy, approachable, in no way daunting - without omitting necessary aspects, not simplifying, just profoundly well-made. Outstanding, world-class effort.

Tap at Brewskival. Pours black with beige head. Very sweet with chocolate, some maple, a bit smokey. Cinnamon does not shine through too much which is a plus. Quite nice.

Stor, intensiv. Mycket gott.
