Our original flagship, Sawtooth Amber Ale, continues to stand the test of time. Enjoying a pint is like playing your favorite classic album. Nostalgic, influential and a journey to be enjoyed from beginning to end. Malty chewiness slowly transitions over to herbal, earthy hops that make way for the crisp, dry finish of this multi-award-winning ale.

Nitro version bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is bread and strong musty smell--like a dusty old couch. Appearance is clear copper with slowly floating tiny bubbles (like dust in bright sunlight), thin white foamy head with poor retention (maybe I didn’t pour hard enough or perhaps because after opening it I got distracted for a couple minutes before pouring?) and no lacing. Taste is malty bread with bitter finish. Palate is medium bodied with thick, creamy texture, soft carbonation and dry, mildly bitter finish. Overall, didn’t really do it for me. Not much here and what was here is pretty forgettable.

Draft at Pinthouse Pizza. Amber with off-white head. Aroma of malt and bread. Weak malt, caramel, and nut flavors. Not a lot of flavor. Creamy texture. Not very exciting, but it’s drinkable.

Clear amber beer with a bubbly white head. A sweet, tangy, malt aroma. Flavour is milder. The same qualities are there and there’s some hoppy flavour coming through as well. It doesn’t have the rich, hearty quality you’d expect from an ideal premium/ESB but it’s very drinkable all the same. A touch too strong to be as sessionable as they claim on the bottle but tastewise it absolutely is.

12 ounce bottle. Bright copper color topped by a small creamy beige head. Faint toasted malt nose. Soft biscuit malt flavor is balanced by a pleasantly spicy floral hoppiness. Bittersweet citrus hops in finish are subtle and lingering.

4 oz pour on nitro at Spacebar. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of toast, biscuit, citrus. Tastes of toast, biscuit, light citrus. Medium body with a dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel from the nitro I assume, not a fan of that for an ESB.

This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a copper color with a slight transparency to it. A slim half finger white foamy head starts and dissipates into a bubbly lacing coating the top of the beer.
The smell takes a light biscuit to toffee to delicate caramel breadiness weaving in some light earthy hops coming across slightly grassy.
The taste is malty between the caramel, biscuit, toffee and breadiness. Acceptable level of buttery \"diacetyl\" is there to smooth the aftertaste into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionable feel to it. The carbonation is low in this one which is good for the style and for me.
Overall, as an ESB it works. And I’d say this one works for as well, would love to have with some fish and chips.

FInal seco y amargo. Muy buena.

Bottle from Mitsuya’s. Poured into an English tulip. Clear amber with a nice light tan head. Aromas of toffee, caramel and apricot-like fruit. Slight floral hops as well. Taste is more of the same. Well-balanced. Smooth and crisp finish.

12 oz bottle 3 weeks past its best by date of 2/25/15 into a chalice glass A: Pours a cloudy dirty orange color with very little head, lacing or carbonation rising. More brilliant and clear color as the beer warms. Too cold I guess. 2nd bottle has more head and adequate to nice degree of lacing. S: A burst of orange hit my nose at first pop but not noticed again, replaced by a dark fruit smell along with some toffee. 2nd bottle has a slight hint of cinnamon on the nose. T: Tart and toasty with a fruity snap that I like. Fruity/earthy hop taste with a wheaty malt note. Pretty good. M: Medium bodied with very little noticeable carbonation, finishing tart and a little sticky but clean overall if a little flat. O: Interesting enough ESB though maybe not enough so to buy regularly at $10/6. I may be missing some of the intended flavor and feel of this beer due to the age. Overall though I like the style and think its a pretty decent representation.
