On tap at the brewery. Nose has molasses, tons of port, burnt caramel, dried herbs, tons of malt. Flavor has barrel, port, lots of molasses and dried fruits, cherries and figs and dates. Hot. Sticky. Boozy.

Bottled 500ml. -from the brewery shop. Pitch black coloured, small brownish head, chocolate and light maple in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa and light maple with noticable but balanced alcohol. Sweetish finish.

500ml bottle. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark brown head. BA supported, slightly roasty and chocolately, dark malty as well as caramel malty aroma, notes of Bourbon, vanilla, dark caramel, maple syrup, some toffee. Taste is BA supported, sweet-ish, caramel malty and slightly roasty, dark malty, minimally alcoholic, notes of Bourbon, vanilla, dark caramel, maple syrup, some toffee, treacle, a touch of coffee; slightly warming, alcoholic finish.
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, dense, soft, creamy carbonation.
Rather sweet and a tad boozy, nevertheless harmonious and a nice sipper - enjoyable.

Bottle shared by CLW--thanks, CLW! Inky, opaque black with light viscosity, no head or lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon over maple. Taste is bourbon, hint of maple syrup. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste, light alcohol harshness experienced with inhale. OK.

aroma is roasted malts, notes from the barrelling woody notes, booze, honey. overall great roasted malty barrel agedd aroma with finer notes from the maple syrup. bit boozy though.

4oz pour at the brewery. Leggy, inky black with a ring of beige head. Nose is nice, deep malt and licorice, maple, smoke. Flavor has a lot more barrel and I'm for it. Over the malt it brings dried dark fruits, spice and a lot more caramel. Boozy end.
