Pours a hazy amber from a bottle, big pillowy head with a ring of melted-marshmallow lacing. Smells like a yeasted dough with some fruit, like some kind of an apple or apricot popover. Actually, this whole thing reminds me of baked goods somehow, not like American cookies or something like that, but something in an honest to goodness European style bakery, some kind of simple tart or something that most Americans would pass over in favor of a cheesecake brownie but that’s really the most phenomenal thing in the store for its restraint, delicacy and poise.

Kullankeltainen, kirkas ja kupliva olut, jonka seassa leijuu hiivapartikkeleita. Valkoista vaahtoa aika vähän ja katoaa nopeasti, eikä jätä juurikaan pitsiä. Tuoksu hedelmäinen ja makea, jollain tapaa hyvinkin tuttu tuoksu muista belgioluista. Myös maussa viljaisuutta, hedelmää ja jälkimaussa pientä katkeruutta. Myös mausteisuutta on mukavasti mukana ja jää tuntumaan kielenpäälle. Ehkä tämä on vähän pliisu parhaimpiin maanmiehiinsä verrattuna, mutta varsin mainio kuitenkin.

Pours hazy gold from a ceramic bottle. The aroma is banana and bread. Taste is banana, bubble gum and spice, notably pepper and clove. Reminds one of a wheat beer, although the wheat malt is notably absent. Goes down dry, medium bodied, leaves a yeasty and bubble gum sweet aftertaste. The warming presence that comes with 8.5 % abv is notably absent. Compared to a brash Duvel, same style and same ABV, this is a more subtle experience. Very good stuff.

Draught @ Five Mile Stone, Finally had the opportunity to rate this, after tasting and loving it 10 years ago at the Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Clear golden color with nice foamy white head, faint vanilla aroma., medium carbonation, smooth body, medium malty finish. Great example of what you can do with the Belgian yeast!

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a pale golden color and clear with a fizzy white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, fruit, light malt and spice. Taste is Belgian yeast, fruit, spice, hints of clove, pepper, and floral notes. Deceptively drinkable.

Hatalmas és nagyon tartós, hófehér habja van. Színe gyönyörű világos borostyán. Illata nagyon intenzív, fűszeres, borsos, kissé korianderes. Íze finom fűszeres, borsos - korianderes, robosztusan, de nem túl intenzíven kesernyés. A korty végén pici pezsgős hatás érezhető. Utóíze hosszan tartó keserűvel indít, enyhe torkot maró fűszeres mellékízzel, picike savanyúval és édessel. Robosztusan testes, nehéz sör. Az alkohol jól el van rejtve, de azért érezni hogy erős sör.
