[9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. As “Ot The Explorer Double IPA Festival Edition”. Amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bit of biscuit and a bit of piney hops. Sweet flavor, malty, with caramel, some biscuit and a bitter finish with piney and citric hops. Medium to full-bodied.

Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Aalborg. Hazy deep orange with an lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Very soft for a double IPA. 091014

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Orange amber, creamy white head. Nose is metallic & very bitter pine resin. Very oily taste, big bitterness, resin, light candy sugar, oily pine, lingering bitterness. Very oily body. Bit straightforward & mainly just bitter, good, could be better. Earlier Rating: 6/30/2013 Total Score: 4Sampled draught @ Tilburg Bierfestival 2013. Ah, a fresh & new IIPA from these guys. Hazy orange with a big creamy tanned head. Nose is big fresh grapefruit hops, almost worth (this one should be very recently brewed), light caramel, oily, pine, some malts,… Taste is bitter grapefruit mixed with thick caramel, toffee, brown sugar, hop oil, pine resin, bitter spices, creamy, pine flowers, lingering. Mouth feel is quite a bit thicker with a bit more malt bone than expected & preferred but still excellent stuff.

On tap @ Borefts 2013. A really deep cloudy orange-ish looking one with a small islandy and light sidesticking white top. The nose has a mild piney hoppy bitterness to it. I get some canned fruits here with a little bit of sweetness as well. Not sticking it's head out to far, but it's a safe and solid dipa aroma. Quite malty and sweet at first in the taste. I get a good amount of honey and piney hops. It has a good oily mouthfeel and a average prickling carbonation level. Ends with sweet honey also and Lingering almost a warming sensation in to the aftertaste. Light dry on the tongue after the swallow. All in all a solid one. 28.09.2013

Small yellowish head, that takes a long time to build, and is fast gone again. Hazy amber-ochre beer. Pineapple, citrus and other exotic fruit making up the nose. Quite bitter/resiny in the taste - some cakey malts underneath. Pine, ferns, and other exotic plants - but nice. Kumquat and grapefruitpeel. Very slick, even sticky. Quite well-bodied. Quite nice - it’s not a Plinius yet, mind...

330mL bottle, pours an opaque orange amber with a small beige head and lots of sediment. Nose is rich with solid balance of resinous hops and big caramel malt backing. Flavour is thick and rich, with the same flavour balance - the caramel malt backing makes for a chewy IIPA without really much residual sweetness. A "nourishing" IIPA here. Very nice.
