Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Cola coloured with moderate carbonation but no head. Big coffee notes with a touch of dark chocolate and porridge oats, leading to a roast dry finish. Very smooth drinking and excellent all round.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - bottled 16 Sep 2011, at William K Kurvi, 20120505) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and molasses. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, ash, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, ashy and bitter. Nice balanced and tasty porter with low ABV.

Dark reddish brown clear beer, thick biscuit coloured head. Crisp and light palate contrast with the soft head. Malty with a very light touch of smoke. Subtle hop in the dry frothy finish. Okay but just a little dull.

33cl bottle. Pours opaque black with not much head. Nose of dark chocolate, coffee and some hazelnuts. The taste has burnt malt, coffee and a slight astringency on the end. The palate is medium bodied and light and creamy texture and an astringent finish. Overall, decent.

A black beer with a nice colour, light brown, medium head. Aroma is aromatic and quite nice, lots of chocolates, roastiness, coffee, nice sweetness and milky sourness. Taste is similar than aroma, chocolates, coffee, balanced sweetness and roastiness. Light+ bodied, nice carbonation, too light to drink. Very nice, personal Porter, the light body is the weakest sector, nice aroma and taste.

Aroma - roasted malts...deep roast...bit of smoke...burnt crust...woody...some bitter hops in background...bit of dark chocolate...savoury bit meaty...ashy...quite complex
Taste - as above...lots of roast...bit of sweet dark malts to counterblaance...bit sooty....rather complex...powerful flavour for 5.1%
Palate - soft carb...thin to medium body....mouthcoating burnt crust with underlying sweet dark malts and bitter hops...bit acidic tang. Finish as main flavour...long lingering dryish burnt crust and rich woody dark malts - but not too much. Overall - Complex flavour and aroma for the abv. Interesting, a good brew - 1 bottle is just the right amount though

33cl bottle. Black colour with a frothy and creamy tan head. Perfect lasting and nice lacing. Aroma is to dark coffee and black chocolate, slightly sweet. Flavous has notes of expresso, black chocolate, strong to licorice, moderate bittery with a final to burnt malts and with a moderate duration. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.

750ml bottle. Brown with large white head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate. Dark chocolate dominates the taste also, complemented by mocha coffee. On the other side harmonically hop balanced. Very nice.

33cl bottle from DeMolen biershop. Brune, col épais moka. Arôme malt grillé, chocolaté avec flocons avoine et très bon houblon et aspect citronné et frleuri très agréable. En bouche, me rappelle quasi une Black IPA, côté malt chocolaté avec en retrait des notes de chocolat au lait, moka et petite pointe grillé expresso. Cela est accompagné d’un très beau profile houblonné moyennement amer et citronné. Vraiment légère avec un profile malt bien en avant le tout finissant sur cette pointe d’amertume houblonnée. Un régal. Carbonation est active la bière bien pétillante avec l’avoine qui donne cet aspect de grains et une belle rondeur en bouche.
