Draught at Eataly, 2/2/17.
Minimal haze to this lightly copper-tinted, strong golden beer. Off-white head is small and shows low retention.
Gin botanicals in the nose are not obnoxious and allow for fruity Brett notes to break through, with tons of pepper, spice and wood behind it. Malts add a touch of caramel-accented honey and the beer works well enough despite many of the gin barreled beers being too overpoweringly full of gin.
Very dry, maybe a shade too much so, flavor joins spice, light honey and lots of lactic and fruity brett notes. Nothing really sticks out, thankfully and itβs surprisingly well homogenized. Engaging carbonation, tons of bready malts and various yellow fruits on the tart, clean, lightly botanical finish.
