Near black colour with an appealing tan head. The nose features fresh ground coffee and a touch of bitterness. This is a tasty coffee-based IS. The fresh ground coffee from the nose leads the taste profile, supported by dark berries and a hint of vanilla. It is a sweet brew, but not cloying and with a clean aftertaste. A slight creaminess in the taste works well with a slightly thin body. Well blended and tasty.

500ml bottle. Jet black, dark brown pour, medium head. Lots of dark roasted malts in the aroma, but not overpowering. Quite a bit of dark cocoa, and some sweet chocolate too, with hints if vanilla. Mouthfeel is full and stick with very soft carb. Finish is sweet, slightly lactic, with alot of milk chocolate to round it out. Bitterness is low to medium, and the alcohol is well hidden.

500mL bottle, sent from yourilevesque (thanks a lot, Youri), pours a jet black with a medium brown head. Aroma brings out cocoa, lactose, and roasted malt. Flavour is robust, with loads of roasted malt, cocoa, and lactose. Sweet, lactose dominating and full-bodied. Excellent.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. It’s a black one, topped by a dense, light tan head of fingerthick size. The aroma is pretty much like the regular Malédiction, but more intense and with some alcohol. Wood notes, coffee and roasted malts. It’s warming, full-bodied and soft on the palate, with lots of roasted malts, a good dash of chocolate and some bonfire hints and a sugary, vanilla-ish touch. Lasting finish. Sure a fine one, but a bit heavy I think. 150611

Oui je l’avoue, ce produit n’a que des qualités. C’est vraiment très dense sans être trop lourd. La vanille, le chocolat noir et même des raisins rouges se pointent. C’est une excellente bière, bien faite, tout simplement.
