Butty Bach is a Welsh term meaning ‘little friend’ – and this charmingly smooth premium ale has certainly made more than a few friendships in its time. We brew it using Maris Otter and Crystal malts together with locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops. With such fine ingredients, no wonder it remains a firm favourite.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber with good white head. Pleasant aroma - grassy, some citrus notes. Light body with plenty of carbonation. Taste is light malt with plenty of balancing tartness, and some pleasant bitterness in finish. Pleasant but unexceptional.

Pure white frothy head stayed well on a translucent, effervescent, light golden body. No aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & slightly cloying ojn the back. Malt, faint hints of hops & tastes a bit soapy.

Cask at Edmunds Brewhouse. Crocheted lacing from a filmy white layer. Near clear golden body. Mild caramel nose. Mixed taste of buttery caramel and ripe citrus. Bittersweet endnotes. Decent Brit bitter (Shared with Finn, Birmingham 21.09.2016).
