Old notes. Pours near black with a small tan head. It smells of chocolate and a little coconut. The flavor is very sweet with chocolate and coconut. It's different. Med body. Okay.

Can. A- Watery, mild coconut, stale chocolate. A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Tobacco, leather, roasty, watery, cocoa, mild burnt coconut. P- Medium body, thin texture, flat carbonation, bland finish. O- My last Tallgrass beer. I bit bittersweet...in emotions that is. I guess even the good ones die out eventually. Held on to this for a bit too long and drank about 2 months passed the best by date. Coconut is there but not prominent. Lots of tobacco and leather. Hardly sweet. Reminds me a bit of my grandfather and that roasty tobacco chew he loved. This is a great beer for the memories it will hold rather than it's flavor.

Can Black pour with a short lived tan head. Aroma of chocolate and light coconut. The flavor is very sweet chocolate syrup. It could go places from there but doesn't Just really sweet chocolate.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was bitter with dark chocolate. The flavor was bitter with dark chocolate and a touch of coconut. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied.

12 oz. can. Pours black, with a small, dense, tan head. The aroma is cocoa, mild orange peel, toffee, figs, and a bit of salt. Sweet, with a pleasant, chocolaty bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a syrupy, thick mouthfeel. Lovely, balanced, and decadent. Very cake-like, but not overly sweet. Very enjoyable.

From a can this pours big and near black dark brown with a fabulous choco-moose head, heheh. It's large and in charge. Taste is chocolate sweet close to cloying. Some metal on the back end. Decent very mild creamy co2. Well, it is sweet. Smell is near nuetral with a little roasty nose. A little difficult on the finish.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 9/28/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Lightly spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, coconut, vanilla frosting, cream, marshmallow, fudge, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of dark, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and coconut notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, coconut, vanilla frosting, cream, marshmallow, fudge, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, coconut, vanilla frosting, cream, marshmallow, fudge, toasted dark/brown bread, light herbal/grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and coconut flavors; with a solid roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent flavored cream stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, cocoa, and coconut flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very nice richness for the ABV. Really great balance of all flavors, nothing is overwhelming. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
