Our collaboration with our friends at Foundation Brewing in Maine! No pineapples were harmed in the making of this beer. Pilsner, Oats, and Rice lay the base down for the Michigan Chinook, Michigan Crystal, and Citra hops to run wild. You're going to have to look real hard to find the 10.3% ABV.

Crowler from Holiday Market. Pours a glowing, hazy straw gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates quickly. Dank aromas with pine and lots of pineapple syrup on the nose. A bit of light mineral notes in the nose as well. Sweet pineapple on the palate with more pineapple, tangerine and dank pine flavors. Sweet, sticky pineappley finish that lingers with some lingering dank and pine.

16oz can pours a sunset orange with some sudsy, white head. Nose has orange juice and pulp, guava, melon, grapefruit. Just a citrus bomb. Flavor is the same, heavy juiced orange, tangerine, grapefruit, floral too, a little pith now. Full bodied, bitter finish.

Draft at Seven Monks, Traverse City. Appearance like the others, a muddy orange-brown slurry topped by a thin off-white head. Tropical fruit juice nose, big on papaya, some vegetal papaya skin, too. Body dense, sweet, tangy papaya and pineapple; pulpy and sugary with modest vegetal, peppery fruit skin. Smooth and creamy. Old Nation may be Old Gregg's favorite brewery, and ME-MI is another offering that's worth a watercolor or three.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/23/2018. Pours opaquely hazy medium orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mildly increasing warmth of 10.08% after the finish. Overall this is an amazing NE DIPA! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and ddangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Not as soft on mouthfeel as I expected, but they used rice to lighten up the body; so the drink ability was insane. Perfect balanced juicy and dank hop complexity; balanced bready wheat/oat backbone, never overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
