With a palate that is fresh, piercing and focused, complemented by soft malt overtones and pronounced citrus flavours. A strong focus of taut, lemony, grapefruit on the finish which is balanced by a dry bitterness.

15th September 2012: hand-pulled pint in ‘The White Lion’, Wellington, Shropshire. Another golden ale with a citrusy hop front (the UK is awash with them this summer). The 4.5% ABV gives this one a bit more ‘umph’ than most and although I’m fed up with this style of beer in general I quite enjoyed this one. Crisp, sharp and refreshing: with those citrus hops being prominent throughout, very little malt influence to be found in this dry finishing ale.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20120331) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and long lasting. Aroma had malts, hint of toffee and hops. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were hops, fruitiness, biscuit, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. A very bitter-like golden ale. Not bad but not anything special either.
