Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale

Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Hazy, dark yellow. Thick, bubbly, lasting white head. Nice ripe pear and peachy hop first off. Brioche sweet malts. Banana toffee. Some spicy shizzle. Taste is sweet, turning dry, and light bitter. Smooth, full, squishy mouthfeel. Finish is when the hops kick in. Leafy and herbal. Very drinkable.

A golden beer, strong bubbling, a head is very big and white. Aroma has fruitness, apple peel, perries, some sourness of lemon and spicyness. Taste has sour apples, spices, perries and lemon. Medium bodied, strong carbonation. Similar than Duvel. Lots of raw fruits, quite good.

750ml bottle from Tanakaya. Shared with Micah. Poured into a Duvel glass. Pours a hazy orange gold with a big soapy head that hangs around throughout. Aromas of orange, lemon, grapefruit and some resiny hops. Taste is more of the same with the lemon and sour orange really standing out. Soft carbonation with a nice dry finish. Lots of floral hops. Good stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mischief on 21 Jun 2015 at 18:46 - Score: 7

Ambar clara, turbia.

Rerate from shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 20.06.16. Cloudy straw colour. White head and lacing. Fruity aroma of citrus and sawdust. Similar taste, with fresh apples and pears. Dry, and tastes almost overfermented. Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.03.15. Slightly cloudy. Not much head. Moderate and slightly fruity aroma. A bit bland taste, with hints of apples and pears. Low carbonation. (6/2/5/3/11=2,7)

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy golden with a white head. Fruity, yeasty and spicy aroma with some hops. Flavor has some sweetness, fruitiness, spicy yeast, mild bitterness and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Alright.
