Hoppy Belgian-Style Ale
Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out.

2013 bottle drunk late March 2014
Fantastic pour, somehow the head never goes away and there’s tons of the fluffy, off-white stuff, producing massive lacing. The body is a brilliant copper-golden, with plentiful carbonation and a good clarity.
Unfortunately, after you are impressed by the appearance, the fun ends. Instead of writing another needless rant, I’ll just say, see Ernest’s review or see TAR’s review. They both sum it up perfectly. Tacky, sappy, piney hops with just a massive amount of acidity both from the hops and yeast. Sugarry-sweet and near-cloying. I don’t get all of the eccentric off-flavors, but there’s plenty of fusels, aspirin, some metallic notes and lots of veggies. Boggles my mind how a brewer could brew this, taste it and say, Alright! Let’s bottle and sell this stuff!! Undrinkable. Fortunately I was just given a sample from a friend’s bottle, so I didnt have to pour it out, which I would have done had it been mine.
