Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden strong ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out.

Bottle shared thanks to Mrhangover. Pours cloudy golden with a thick off white head. Aroma has Belgian yeast, peppery saison style, citrus. Flavor is over moderate sweet and bitter. Some hoppiness and coriander coming out in the palate with caramel. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Alcohol warmth in the finish. I would have to call this an "imperial saison".

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/9/2013. Pours slightly hazy bright golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon zest, orange zest, tangerine, pineapple, pear, apple, pepper, clove, floral, grass, wheat, bread, light honey, light pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of yeast, hop, and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, tangerine, pear, apple, pineapple, wheat, bread, floral, grass, pepper, clove, light pine, and floral/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon/orange zest, tangerine, pineapple, pear, apple, floral, grass, light pepper, wheat, bread, light pine, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth and moderately slick/crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian strong golden! All around great balance and complexity of malt, yeast ester, and hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottled 750ml. -from Za Popen’t Pivoteka, Ljubljana. Cloudy orange/golden coloured, medium to big white head that went away slowly, hint of yeast and oranges in the nose. Acidic malty, yeasty and pleasant citrusy with alcohol well hidden. Not bad at all.

8% part of the 3000 yen tasting set at CBB. Clear golf pour with a filmy white head. On tap. 3 out of 5. Some funk, barnyard & oniony leather in the nose. The taste is lightly carbonated, sour, wine-like, a Belgian but not really fruity. It’s ok but not my cup of tea. A touch too sour, it comes off unbalanced in a half-pint glass. In a Duvel type glass you get way more of a nice Saison type barnyard spice quality to it, it’s still sour & a bit cork like... Kind of average, looking at the reviews here it seems better in bottles... ----------update bottle--------- Yep as I suspected it is much nicer in bottles. 8.5% A deep gold with minimal head and a juicy orange plus pungent Belgian estery notes. The taste is zesty lemon, saison funk and spices.the current score is for the bottled Mischief.

Another one of Ogi’s gems from the stash, enormous thanks! Opened with a huge bang, but didn’t gush (yay!). Enormous thick white lasting head on top of a misty golden body. Sourish malty yeasty aroma, honeyish, and in the end actually nice despite not slightly unflattering adjectives. Slightly prickly mouthfeel, peachy, citric notes, orange, sweetish, extremely well hidden alcohol. No bitterness. Basically flawless, just a tad dull, but nothing against it.

Pours a somewhat golden orange slightly yellow yet there’s a tinge of brown trying to darken the body, two finger white foamy head that dies at a good pace; the aroma has a ton of Granny Smith apples up front, with a grasy sort of lemony/bready/spicy sort of coriander-ish sort of thing goin’ on that’s kinda nice; the taste is somewhat tart, yet bitter yet slightly sweet, this is actually, lightly hopped to balance it out, there’s a wine-like aftertaste and finish, its pretty easy on the palate, slightly sessionable - carbonation seems to be somewhat smooth yet not too much, overall this is a good BSPA that I might have again

Palate: Medium body. Mild acidic and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation.
