The Lupulus Hibernatus is a dark strong beer. At the end of the boiling, the brewers add a pinch of cinnamon. The mix with torrefied barley brings this beer a powerful character. The After-taste is at the same time bitter-sweet, and finish on coffee aromas.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Dark reddish/brown with a tan head. Aroma and taste perfume, some caramel, apples, chocolate and light hops. Drinkable but a bit boring to be honest.

Bottled, thanks fonefan! Very dark brown, rich head. Toffee and strawberry up front. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Milk chocolate, esters and brandy, toffee and floral hops. Peachy peppery finish.

Bottled 750ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Dark brown coloured, medium sized beige head, touch of chocolate in the nose. Slight roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and spices with touch of dried fruits and pleasant notes of alcohol. Also spices and alcohol in the finish. Nice winter beer.

Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours dark brown with a small light brown head, some lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel, light coffee, yeast, dark fruit, some spice. Flavor is malty, yeast, coffee, dark fruitds, caramel, dark chocoalte, cocoa, little alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, lightly warming alcohol. 020115

The winter beer of 3 Fourquets, from a 75 cl bottle. Thinnish and not very stable, pale beige head over a deep hazy bronze beer with yellowish hue. Classic Belgian Christmas ale aroma of caramelly and chocolatey malts, coriander, walnuts, orange peel, peach and some - fortunately subdued - glue-like solvents. Soft onset, dried fruits and orange peel, caramelly malt sweetness, lots of coriander as expected, spicy finish with herbal hops, a chocolatey malt presence and a hint of warming, brandy-like alcohol. Very cliché, the umpteenth Scotch-based Belgian winter ale, but certainly tasty and enjoyable.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus, 9%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is malt, yeast, dark fruits, chocolate, little roasted malts, caramel and hop. Flavour is light roasted malts, yeast, dark fruits, medium sweet, little plume, hop, medium bitter, little chocolate and caramel.

+1 voor het etiket, oogt ondoorzichtig bruin/zwart met schuimige bruine kraag. Aroma van mouten, zoet, droppig, lekker. Smaken zijn redelijk bitter, redelijke donkere fruiten, stevig kruidig van oa kaneel, caramel, anijs, redelijk laurierdrop, redelijke donkere fruiten van met name pruim, tevens zoethout en iets van kardemom geloof ik. redelijke body, glad en dik van textuur, afdronk is bitter kruidig. aardig winterbiertje, maar ik moet zeggen dat ik de 75 cl voor mijzelf iets teveel van het goede vind.
