The Lupulus Hibernatus is a dark strong beer. At the end of the boiling, the brewers add a pinch of cinnamon. The mix with torrefied barley brings this beer a powerful character. The After-taste is at the same time bitter-sweet, and finish on coffee aromas.

0.75l bottle. Very dark ruby body with a huge and long lasting beige head. Aroma of bread, dark sugar syrup, raisins and lots of floral hops. Taste of chocolate, dark sugar, coffee, raisins and loads of floral and spicy hops. It’s like a mixture of a classic Belgian strong ale, a generously hopped pilsner and a stout. Interesting beer with good value for the price.I like it.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Vova. Dark brown. Malt, caramel, yeast, dark fruits, a bit of licorice, sweet, some alcohol, a bit of spiciness.

Pours clear dark brown/black with a large foamy tan head. The aroma contains roasted malts, dried fruits, yeast, chocolate and spices. It tastes medium to light sweet, medium bitter and even very light, liquorice-like salty. Oily texture, medium body, lively carbonation. I expected a bit more complexity but it’s very enjoyable.

Bottle, big slightly gushing dense bubbly head, clear dark brown color with some reddish streaks, aroma of minerals and coffee with some wood and just a hint of citrus, flavor of bitter chocolate with some minerals and a hint of citrus, light slightly harsh bitterness and sourness. Quite simple and not too exciting.

Many thanks for this beer to mrs. Ewa. Piwo ma spora ciemna pianke trwala naprawde bardzo. Kolor z przeswitami czerwieni, geste metniste i pachnace kakaem, lekko wanilia i orzechami laskowymi. W smaku cynamon i to sporo, wanilia, kakao z mlekiem i orzechowe tematy w typie pekan i laskowe. Tresciwe i sycace, alkohol doskonale ukryty. Na plus takze zabawna etykieta. Piwo degustowane w orginalnym szkle Lupulus dzieki Pani Ewie.

On tap at hd31. Dark brown color, seemed to be hazed. Big brownish creamy thick head, persistent. Big malty aroma lots of toasted malts hints of coffee and chocolate with licorice and cinnamon. strong herbal hoppy notes. Taste is intense, sweetish and mild to intense bitterness. Creamy texture thick full body soft carbonation. Very mouthifilling and pleasing, very nice Winter beer.

Color coca cola. Espuma abundante y cremosa, ocre. Rico aroma, acaramelado, canela. En boca muy sabrosa y agradable.. muy malteada, dulce de caracter, caramelo, café, chocolate, punto especiado, canela. Bien disimulado el alcohol. Potente y sabrosa.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours almost black red. Aroma is lightly fruity, slightly roasted malts. Body is medium, rather bitter but also sweet, some late booze, low carbonation. Palate is a bit fruity again, also sweet and more booze. Works.
