Draught @ Beer Run (1/14/20). Clear dark brown with ruby red highlights against the light, small foamy beige head, caramel-biscuit aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter caramel, spices, dried red fruits taste, biscuit flavor, thin body, long bitter finish. A great brew, with well covered ABV.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very dark brown almost black colour with a slight red glow and a medium sized thick throthy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of dry dark fruits, candi sugar, bubblegum, vanilla, yeast, alcohol and a little bit of liquorice. Plenty of fizz on the palate with the same notes as in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Plenty of different flavours bouncing around the palate. More bubblegum, dark fruit, vanilla, liquorice, molasses, candi sugar. Semi sweet and also fairly dry on the finish. Fairly long aftertaste. Complex and good. A nice sipper to enjoy once in a while. Re-tasting 19/01/2023: Same look, aromas and taste as before with added notes of plums. Very well balanced. A touch sweet but not overly so. Upping my rating from 3.7 to 3.9. Very nice Christmas beer.

Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Sweet aroma of spice and dark fruits. Then candy sugar takes over. Chestnut. Lasting creamy beige head. Initial light bitterness before sweetness sweeps through with a sour edge and generous spices. As per the aroma the taste gradually gains candy sweetness. Relatively light bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish with lasting spices. Christmas in a glass.

Bottle. Aroma is very nice, doughy and yeasty, rich and fruity too, plums, booze, caramel, toffee, all sorts of good stuff. Marzipan. Taste is rich, delicious, fruity and yeasty. Can't see much difference from the regular 12, but I haven't had that for a while. Although maybe this is a bit fruitier. Imagined it would be spicier.

2008 corked bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, cinnamon and cardemom in the aroma. Malty sweetish, alcoholic, heavily spiced flavor with cinnamon and cardemom. Some caramel in the background. Disappointing, though absolutely a well made beer.
