Beer is neither pasteurized nor filtered and still keeps high residual sugars. That was the target. Inspiration came from Tokaji wine – oxidative notes, robust, rich in flavours with almost brandy like feeling.

Pours clear, gold to amber. No real head. Scent is vineous, rubber, sugary, raisins, mild oak. Taste is full, very tokaji-like. Very raisin forward. Dried white fruit. Nearly no carbonation. Vineous and woody, perhaps a bit OP's, but certainly more than enjoyable.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Mahogany brown with very quickly dissipating off white head. Sweet brandy wine, mild balsamic notes, a touch plummy, hint of honey, smooth alcohol, very nice.

Bottle @ Fjellerup, trade by Rotin and Ascelja, huge thanks. Pours almost clear dark amber with a fading offwhite head. Aroma of light sourness, malt, wood, wet wood, barnyard, rich red cherries. Flavor is quite sweet, mildly sour, malt, wood, light barnyard, sweet red cherries, some alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, sweet and light acidic finish with some warming alcohol. 161022

375mL bottle at Bad Flash Karlin, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny head. Nose has plenty of balsamic, sweet brandy, and sweet red grapes. Flavour is unusually sweet for a mixed fermentation sour, with sweet red grapes, light brandy, buried wild yeast, and a touch of balsamic. The sourness is eclipsed by the sweetness, but it works — drinks more like a brandy or port wine hybrid, with only the subtlest of wild yeast. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Clear amber. Wine, malt, cellar, cobwebs, herbal, cherry, sweet and sourish, alcohol. Too alcoholic but not bad.

330ml bottle. Opalescent, reddish-brown colour with average, frothy, fading, off-white head. Complex, fruity, tangy, sweet-ish, caramel malty aroma, notes of plum, cherry, morello, red berries, blue grapes, sherry, port, marsala, woody overtones, a touch of black pepper, juniper berry, honey, balsamico. Taste is sweet-and-sour, fruity, tangy, mildly woody, herbal, notes of red berries, cherry, morello, plum, blue grapes, lingonberry, sherry, port, marsala, a touch of honey, caramel, balsamico, juniper berry, black pepper, laurel, sage, some oak, whiffs of tea and tobacco; perfectly hidden alcohol. Creamy-oily texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Very complex, superbly balanced, harmonious, thereby dangerously drinkable - absolutely outstanding work of genius!

Bottle shared at tasting. Odd sort of bright reflecting red-purple color, no head. Smell and taste are hard to describe, vinous, tart-bitter. Meh. Not my thing.

Fles gedeeld door Keukeman, geprobeerd met Benzai. Het is een helder bruin bier zonder schuim. Het heeft een zoete druif achtige geur. De smaak is zoet, druif achtig met hints van port en een licht zuurtje in de afdronk.

Świetne piwo, w nosie figi, przemrożone przejrzałe ciemne winogrona, delikatna nuta drewniano-pestkowa, w smaku słodko, winnie, delikatna pestkowa cierpkość na finiszu, sporo ciała, mało kwasowości i genialnie ukryty alkohol. Dawno nie piłem tak dobrego piwa fermentacji spontanicznej.

Bottle from Mitra Zuiderpoort Wijchen. Thanks, Ewout! Gusher. Color: Lightly hazy reddish brown, very thin off-white head. Aroma: Dried red grapes, bit boozy. Taste: Medium to over medium sweet, intense fruity dried red grapes. Raisins, oak wood, tannins. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Below average carbonation, more than 2016 version which had no carbonation. Bit boozy and Port-like. Very light vinuous sourness. Over medium body. You can taste the dense concentration of the dried red grapes. Sirupy. Sticky. Grape-sugar. Great slow sipper.
