Bottle. Orange blonde. Vinous aroma with apricots. Sour, lemony flavor with peaches and apricots. Vinous. No carbon. There is some complexity.

Wine barrel aged sour ale with both peaches and apricots (you do not see both of these together in one beer very often) and using rye in the mash; for me the first one by Zomerdijk, the sour ale department of Holland’s new superstar De Moersleutel. Thin, loose, egg-white, open ‘ring’ for a head, misty ochre-tinged peach blonde robe. Aroma of apricots indeed, much more than peaches which linger in the background, glazed pear, grape juice, damp earth, sour apple, minerals, unripe pineapple, raspberry vinegar, gypsum. Fruity, estery onset, sour with lemony acidic edges, wry apricot and peach peel aspect, refined minerally carbonation, rounded white-bready soft malt base dried by fruity acidity and lactic tartness; late warming alcoholic touch but quite subtly so, alongside a dry wine note, woody tannins and some yeasty and – probably – peach and apricot kernel ‘dustiness’. Not bad at all, but this one did fall a bit short in the company of Antidoot, Bokke, Wild Creatures, Tomme Sjef and the like at the Wild festival in Groningen; could do with even more peachy fruitiness and refinement, but in any case interesting enough to keep an eye on this Zomerdijk project.

Plat, vrij veel stro, hooi, fruitig, aardig, maar mag iets meer co2 hebben, desondanks niet slecht.

Hazy pale golden, pale amber with no head. Sour grains, fruity, stonefruit, grapes. Over medium sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Hazy golden with barely any head. Aroma of funk, oak, peach and light vinous notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Hazy pale golden, pale amber with no head. Sour grains, fruity, stonefruit, grapes. Over medium sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Sampled at Wild Festival Groningen. Hazy golden with no head and light stuff floating around. Apricot, sour lemon, oak, old dry wood, light lactic sour. Quite sour, light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with almost no carbonation.

Bottle, 2019. Color: Hazy murky orange, no head. Aroma: Tart stone fruit. Fruity and funky. Taste: Medium to over medium tart, a lot of (unripe) apricots and peaches. Wild yeast farm-barn funk. Oak wood. Light to moderate sweetness, very light bitterness. Very lightly vinuous, even after 2,5 years I don't recognize anything from the Bordeaux. Dry mouthfeel. Medium body. Very low, almost none carbonation, as stated on the label. Long lasting fruity tart finish. Try a little more carbonation next time, please. Otherwise nice one, although a bit overpriced in my opinion. I like the taste of the fruity tart apricots.
