N'ice CHOUFFE is the winter beer from the Achouffe Brewery. We recommend that you enjoy it from mid-October to mid-February, preferably by the fireplace. It is a dark beer, slightly hoppy, spiced with thyme and curaçao, and made using orange peel. It has an alcohol content of 10%. N’ice CHOUFFE goes well with any winter dishes.

# 1274; 1/2019. Velmi dobrý belgický ale. Lehce čokoládový a ovocný, s jemnou kořenitostí.

330ml brown bottle with a best before date 02-2021. Pours a clean dark amber colour with copper highlights. The frothy beige head has good stay and leaves spotted foam lacing. Aromas are a blend of dark fruits like dates, raisins and banana notes that is found from wheat. The base is caramel malts. The taste shows these ingredients with hops that give out some grassiness, but also kind of rusty water notes. Some haziness at last pour. Interesting, and easy enough to drink for 10% ABV, but nothing to go back to.

Bottle at home. Bit hazy light brown with big fizzy tan head. Lots of caramel, sugar and alcohol. Light spices, Christmas cake, licorice, medicinal herbs. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied with boozy finish and a lot of carbonation. Not very good.

33cl bottle @home. Pours dark brown. White head, not lasting very long. Candy and caramel aromas. Some spices too. Body is too thin and rather 'mainstream'. Upon finishing, the alcohol takes over rather prominently. Not my cup of (N'ice)tea.

Bottle from FinestBelgianBeers. Pours a dark ruby brown colour with a medium sized beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, sweet candy, spice and a touch of alcohol. Taste is similar to the aroma lots of dark fruit, candy, spice also liquorice with a slick oily chewy mouthfeel. Dry finish with lingering sweet candy and spice. Very Christmassy but definitely a sipper.
