500 ml bottle. Clear light golden, stable foamy head. Light citrus and grain, pale malts, light caramel, some hay and grass, metal. Malty sweetness, dry metallic bitterness. Light bodied, oily watery texture, lively carbonated, dry sweetish finish. Decent Kölsch.

I had countless plastic cups of this beer at the World Cup in 2006 in the main plaza in the alt stadt of Koln. How do you rate a beer that you guzzled in the 90 degree heat, that was the first stop of seeing three knock-out round matches. I imagine my first of these was whilst watching Lukas Poldolski score 2 on the big screen against Sweden. Later that night I would have been enjoying this beer during the stunner from Argentina against Mexico during extra time - the goal of the tourney. The next night, I am certain this was in my hand when Beckham scored against Ecuador before the downpour started and we ran to an indoor bar for the last 30 minutes. And I certainly had one of these next to me whilst playing Babyfoot in the plaza against some strangers. All great memories lead to an inflated score. But I do recall it being refreshing and perfect during all of these matches.

Soft orange aroma. A soft bitter flavor with some chalk and orange. Everything in a kölsch is soft and fairly well balanced and this one is no exception. Very drinkable, but not distinctive.
