Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Grains and fruits on the nose. The flavor has a good bitterness, pleasant fruits and pale malts. Pleasant bitterness in the finish too. Dry, medium full mouthfeel. A boring one, but with good bitterness. 100108

Can. Pours very pale gold with a foamy white head. Aromas of mild bread and light lemon. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Lightly bready malt. Touches of citric fruit and hops. Good considering.

Bottled (Bierzwerg, BB 08/2010)
Clear golden color, small white head. Lagery lemon-fruity nose with hints of bubblegum. Flavor is similar: citrus, bubblegum, fruityness. Short fruity finish. Low bitterness. One of the more interesting bottled Kölsches although this one is not so highly praised here.

Kegged, at a restaurant in Cologne. Clear golden color with a tall, fine head. Fruity malt aroma. Nice, mellow, fruity flavor, with a touch of malty sweetness. There is also a slight citrus tang. Finishes rather dryly, with hops noticeable but no strong bitterness. Slightly more flavorful than the previous (Schreckenskammer). Definitely better malt, though slightly less hop bitterness. Good.

Draught in Köln. Clear pale golen, rich fluffy head. Light grassy hoppy nose. Mid-sweet fruity and lightbodied with rounded mouthfeel. There’s notes of syrup and resin you don’t get in real kölsch. Late harsh bitterness. Big brewers should not attempt this delicate style...

Canned(500ml). -courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog (thanks!)
Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, grainy nose. The taste is also grainy, flowery and light hoppy with dry nutty finish.

0.5l can courtesy of a friend who brought it from Köln (thanks Alen!), shared with ogivlado Poured a shiny darker yellow body with a medium sized thick white head that left nice lacing. Grainy nose that gets flowery, with hints of honey. Not bad but unremarkable. The same goes for the taste too. It’s so damn light, but it’s pleasant, flowery and grainy, with some light but quality hop taste showing up. Pleasant enough, but not all that different from an above average pale lager or pils.

The bottle looks good. The beer in the glass also. Fruity, light - as every Kölsch, in the end little bit washy - an average Kölsch.
