The chance to brew with long time idol Alan Sprints of Hair of The Dog is something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Maja is a bourbon barrel aged barleywine brewed with maple syrup, lactose sugar and vanilla beans. Conceptually you could call it a “maple muffin barley wine”.

Small white head over fully hazy orange beer. Vanilla, Bourbon, oak, Poire William alcohol. Superb vanilla-Bourbon flavours, with alcohol, fusels, icecream made with double cream, sweet. Very thick, viscous, chewy. Outstanding, top-class beer, unique. Thanks to D & L!

Borefts IX. Day 2. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small white head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth sweetish malts, well integrated maple. A little vanilla and then more maple. Mild spice. Jammy generic fruits underneath. Light dry finish. Nice enough. Would be good to try again in a couple of years.

Bottle thanks to Grant. Pours a cloudy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is caramel, vanilla, maple, oak. Medium body, marshmallow, vanilla, dark fruit, boozy, very good.

Looks lousy all mud and light brown, barrel, sweet, coconut? Weird, has a nice coconut and sweet malt note with barrel finish.

Bottle at Black Christmas 2017
Hazy light amber color. Very good job with the malt, old school Hait of the Dog, sweet, with a taste of cake; warming alcohol.
Very nice.

750mL bottle, pours a murky opaque dark orange (looks like shit) with a small white head. Aroma is very hot, with lots of alcohol, bourbon barrels, and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is very hot, with light vanilla, bourbon barrels and alcohol. Not really getting the maple. This is hot and messy, but rather pleasant, imbuing a nice warming character. Rather disappointing for a Hair of the Dog beer, but it's alright.

A pour from the bottle (thx, Jeremy!!!) on Black Christmas V. Pours a hazy dirty golden with a weak white head. Aroma is bourbon and some fresh berries and fruits. Taste is very sweet along with the aroma. Very nice.

Honigartiger, leicht rauchig malziger Antrunk. Holznoten, deutlich Vanille, weich. Hell rauchig bleibend, die Vanille Noten nehmen zu. Geringe Süße. Gut. 10/11/10/10//10
