All aboard the collaboration train - our newest five-way stout is loaded up with delicious flavors that bring us back to the whimsical days of sneaking brownies before dinner. This beer utilized a large number of friends (The Veil, Cloudwater, Monkish and Other Half) and a large amount of real nuts, coconut, coffee, and vanilla.

Adjunction Junction pours a thick, deep brown color with above medium haze. Bringing the glass to the nose calls to mind the charred, crunchy edge of a tray of freshly baked brownies followed by notes of vanilla bean, bold cold brew coffee, and pecan-almond brittle. The palate seamlessly layers flavors of caramel-chip cookies and macadamia blondies with charred dark chocolate and soft brownie batter. Adjunction Junction has a slick yet rounded mouthfeel with a medium body and a delightfully sweet finish.

750mL bottle shared 10/14/18.
Fairly ugly appearance, with some clarity, but rather murky with chunky sediment in a mauve-tinted chestnut brown with zero head.
Nose is like a liquefied candy bar, though honestly not even that sweet. Just full of nuts and caramel. Some moderate acidity on the finish, but it never gets overly stout-like. No big or even medium roast aromas and no dark chocolate. Basically fudge, vanilla, strong nut aromas and lots of rich caramel. Alcohol is well-concealed.
In the mouth it fares similarly. At no point did I not enjoy the beer, as it's sweet, but not horribly-so and has a slick-to-soft texture and low but fairly engaging carbonation. As well, the alcohol doesn't really show through and there's no big syrup or sugar lingering. What it does have is a lot of caramel-praline character and tons of nuts. Very light acidity balances enough, leaving the beer on the sweeter side, but still drinkable. It doesn't, however, have much in the way of stout character. No roast, chocolate, prune, not much vanilla. Kind of just a liquefied caramel-praline beverage. After the severely underwhelming Fireplace Bananas from this same collaboration group, I'm willing to go on the record as saying the only stouts in this series worth going out of your way for are the J Wakefield collabs.

Poured from bottle thanks ClarkVV dated 9/12/18 brownish with black tinges no head and some nut residue. Aroma is coffee vanilla coconut almond chocolate. Taste follows aroma slight warming from the abv, not sure I would want more than 1 pour let alone 25 ounces.

750 ml bottle thanks to ClarkVV. Color is a deep brown, fizzy head. Aroma is old coffee, plenty of nuts, and maybe a dried leaves. Flavor shows coconut through out, plenty of nuts, and a nice lingering coffee after the sip. Fuller body and a smooth texture. Dense and viscous. After 4 oz. I wasn't really craving more.
