Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, dried fruits, herbal notes, hint of hops. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light to moderate bittersweet finish. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Not the biggest Quad on the block, but dried fruits and slightly hoppy character are in its favour.

Appearance: cloudy orangeish amber, moderate off-white head of medium retention. Aroma: good esters, candy, dried fruit. Taste: medium sweet, fruity. Apricot, candy, vinous notes. Low to light bitterness. Mouth feel: medium body, average carbonation. Overall: not exactly a quad. A decent Belgian strong ale.

1 litre bottle as Gringel Bells 2014. Poured a murky dark brown colour with a bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, big molasses, marmite, light red berry fruits, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, earthy, mineral, warm alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

* Rating overgezet * Het is een licht troebel amberkleurig bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat grassige geur. De smaak is moutig, licht zoet en wat bloemig.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Solid creamy off-white head. Malt and caramel in the plummy, almost vinous aroma. Malty sweet, plummy, slightly alcoholic flavor with caramel. Almost full bodied. Nice beer.

Overall it’s a fine beer. But why don’t they even try to make it as good as rochfert, trappist & westve? Much lighterc but more simple grains for abv. online belgian beer
