The Southie consist of the finest Maris Otter 2 row malt, select crystal malts, and a hint of roasted barley. This brings about an Irish Red that is complex, aromatic and aesthetically pleasing.

Toffee and hazelnut. Deep brown with a rich beige head. Toffee and roast with some nice nutty bitter notes. Solid.

On tap at Nairobi. A deep reddish brown verging on black with a light beige head. Darker than I expected. A chalky cocoa and tangy fruity aroma. Medium bodied with a very soft round mouthfeel. The taste is malty cocoa with a dash of cherry and woodsy flavor. A solid "red".
