This top-fermented dark beer is brewed with roasted malts. The secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it its powerful and pleasant character. Reddish-brown with a creamy and persistent head.The nose is quite complex, powerful and full-bodied with earthy notes of old wood. First aromas are powerful (alcohol), spicy (wood) yet always well balanced, leading up to a pleasantly caramelised finish. The round mouthfeel and roasted malty flavour reinforce the aromas of coffee and toffee (molasses and caramelised butter). Its dark colour and warm strength make Waterloo Double Dark a delicious beer!

Bottle. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor with yeasty hints. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish.

Flaske på hotellrommet, etter besøk på Delirium: "quite a strong beer" iflg etiketten. Allikevel lett i smaken, tørr og noe bæraktig. Myk og lettdrikkelig, selv om den var kveldens siste. Innkjøpt på nærkiosken, og kan gjerne kjøpe den igjen.

17/04 A 0.33 l bottle, courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! This one was clear brown colored with big brownish head. Caramel and fruity malt, slightly yeasty aroma. Fine, pleasant malty flavor, ripe fruits, grape, plums, caramel, cinnamon, some other spices and yeast. Medium to full body with rather simple caramel and sugary sweetish finish. A pleasant Belgian style ale, although might be a bit generic I liked it more than I would a typical dubbel.

33 cl bottle, almost a drain pour during my move between flats. Pours dark brown with a smalltan head. Aroma is overripe fruity and roasted malty. Toasted malty, breadish amd caramelish. Bitter and roasted dense malty finish, light phenolic.

Nice initial florals. Pours dark with decent head and lacing. Finishes a little bitter, some sweetness.Soft carbonation, slightly creamy texture. A couple prune and raisin. Bottle.

I got it in Leuven I think, shared it with heavy. Poured a mostly clear cola amber/brown body with a biiiig off white head that went away slowly. Mild fruity malty aroma, light peach. Light, mostly malty taste, some yeast, Belgian spiciness, slightly soapy. Not terribly impressive, but pleasant and without major flaws. Nice.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with very large head of large bubbles and spotty lacing. Quite a bit if sediment. Aromas of toffee and roasted malts. Similar flavors though a bit watery. OK dubbel though not impressive.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear brown with a big, foamy, off-white head. Nice aroma with big notes of Belgian yeast, candi sugar, some light toffee, and mild spice. Heavily sweet flavor, lots of caramel and toffee character, certainly some alcohol, very mild dark fruits. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Very warm to finish, lots of booze-soaked caramel and toffee, some very light and earthy bitterness, some overripe dark fruit. Lasting impressions of caramel, alcohol, candi sugar and Belgian yeast. Very decent, but a bit too overtly sweet and boozy to be better than that.
