Blonde Ale aged in used Chardonnay barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 9 to 15 months (depending on the age of the barrel) with lots of brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Medium bodied with hints of oak and Chardonnay, funky brett characteristics, with a nice, long sour finish.

Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, tart, funk, white wine and oak. Taste is light sweet and medium sour with a vineous and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. It is a clear, golden beer, topped by a small, white head. Brett aroma, lemon and some funky hints. Slightly tart on the palate, with some bitterness and a pleasant funky brett touch. Full to medium body, soft carbonation. Lasting finish. A nice palate cleansing beer, that’s for sure. 130806

Bottle batch 006 thanks to timfoolery: Poured an orange with thin white head. Aroma is woodsy and fruit. Taste is full of wood and tingly brett, sour edges of fruit. Over all mild which I enjoy in a sour/wild ale.
