Trappist ale brewed with spices. We brewed a beer that we describe as 'slightly unruly'--our Trappist 8 is a beer you must take time to understand. Chestnut-colored and bottle-conditioned, with aroma of herbs and spices; initially floral and slightly sweet; character develops from light caramel to a lovely, dry, hoppy bitterness as the flavor opens. Brewed within the walls of Zundert Trappist Monastery by monks.

Bottle, 330 ml. Courtesy of and shared with JFK10000. Pours orange, clear, off white head. Sweet, toasted caramel, light fruity, spicy. Nice.

Pours hazy blonde/amber with a small white head that leaves little lacing. The aroma contains nuts, caramel, fruits, yeast and malts. Tastes medium sweet, very light bitter; in the finish it is more alcoholic and spicy. Medium body and average carbonation. Unusual aroma, enjoyable, but not as good as other trappists.

Medium hop aroma. Slightly hazy, brown color, big and long head. Tastes obvious but not strong bitterness and light sweetness, yeast notes. Medium body, creamy texture.

Flaska från SB. Mörk bärnstensfärg, lite disig, högt krämig skumkrona. Söt och kryddig doft någonstans mellan blommig parfym och bröstkarameller. Ganska söt, jästig, parfymerad smak, lite kryddig, aningen beska örter. Känns inte riktigt färdig utan lite rå och kantig. Ok

19/02/2016 @home - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Schepens, Zottegem. Amber colour with medium head. Nose is Banana, yeast, orange. Taste is banana, yeast, orange, some hops, caramel, candi sugar.

bottle at In De Wildeman’s - Pours hazy auburn colored with a lasting, light tan head. The flavor is quite sweet with caramel, Belgian yeast, and dark fruit. It’s yeasty with soft carbonation. Very good.

0.33 l bottle shared with ?omo, Dinko and Jela. Thanks Dinko. Clear to hazy amber with medium off white head. Bubblegum. Very light body. Sweet. Malts and syrup. Light finish. Alcohol not present.
