Trappist ale brewed with spices. We brewed a beer that we describe as 'slightly unruly'--our Trappist 8 is a beer you must take time to understand. Chestnut-colored and bottle-conditioned, with aroma of herbs and spices; initially floral and slightly sweet; character develops from light caramel to a lovely, dry, hoppy bitterness as the flavor opens. Brewed within the walls of Zundert Trappist Monastery by monks.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Deep golden-brown body under a slowly fading frothy, beige head. Rings of lace down the glass. Good looking, indeed. Attractive aromas of dark caramel, cheese, and dark fruits. Well flavoured with prunes, raisin, dates, and honeyed caramel sweetness. Subdued yeast esters. Fine bodied. Soft and rounded in the mouth. Not overly sweet. Excellent sipper (Tromsø 07.11.2015).

Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich. Ah yes, good old tripels. Sweet and boozy, lots of yeasty banana aroma, and a matching smooth carbonization. Good!

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø Langnes. Drukket i Skibotn 2 Okt 15. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt skum som raskt blir til film. Behagelig krydderaroma. “Luftig” tungefølelse. Litt mye kullsyre. Smaken søtt krydder. Blir raskt syrlig & bitter. Tørr ettersmak. Litt bunnfall. Svakt uklar siste kvelling.

Bien sabrosa y agradable. Regusto con calorcito licórico.

Bottle at Craft Room, shared with Ribafish (thanks!). A seemingly amber/red body with a small off white head. Grainy aroma, popcorn, bubblegum, maltiness, nice and subtle. Similar graininess in the taste, bubblegum again, maltiness, light note of orange. Dry, tasty, watery. Quite solid beer.

Borefts VII. Day 1. Bottle share. Thanks to whomever brought this. Hazy deep gold beer, small cream colour head. Thin malts bring mild creamy sweetness. Tangy dried orange and dried fruits. Light finish. Tasty enough.

[9/25/15] Bottle shared at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Thanks Countbeer for this bottle! Amber. Aroma of malt, Belgian yeast, fruitiness, phenolic spiciness, caramel. Sweet flavor with caramel, fruits, yeast, phenolic spiciness, and a bitterish finish with a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.

Amber to copper colored, medium creamy off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is sweet brown sugar, toffee, ripe fruits, spice and Belgian yeast. Taste is medium sweet brown sugar, touch of alcohol, spices, some toffee and toast, nuts, dark fruits and a small amount of bready notes. Low+ spicy bitterness. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, silky. In the start it’s nothing special but it takes some time and the right temperature to get the real feel. (bottle, Bistro Leireken, Steenhuffel)
