Trappist ale brewed with spices. We brewed a beer that we describe as 'slightly unruly'--our Trappist 8 is a beer you must take time to understand. Chestnut-colored and bottle-conditioned, with aroma of herbs and spices; initially floral and slightly sweet; character develops from light caramel to a lovely, dry, hoppy bitterness as the flavor opens. Brewed within the walls of Zundert Trappist Monastery by monks.

Bottle at Jessops. Cloudy orange golden, skin of head. Malty, peppery, zesty. Toffee. Not a tripel, but really, really nice.

Bottle. Amber color, firm lasting head. Floral aroma with à hint of caramel. Floral moderately hopbitter flavor. Caramel. Distant fruity and spicy notes. Moderately bitter aftertaste with à hint of licorice. Slightly alcoholic. More than decent.

Bottle at la brasserie , torre del mar , malaga. Aroma is tart fruits, sweet malts, flavor is malts, nougat, sweet dried fruits like figs, dates. This is not a tripel. More like a light quad or a strong belgian ale.

I don't love this beer as much as others here. It is a bit over-bitter to the point where it loses balance. Perhaps even a bitoxidized, but still 2.5 years before best before date. online belgian beer factory

A single 33 cl bottle located at THE bottle shop in Amsterdam, I pop the lid and pour into the cruise ship’s provided glass. Moderately dark brown with a heroic top of off-white, very small bubbles, nice lacing. I take a smell, spicy it appears, dark fruit and grain. A drink gives nutmeg, cloves, plum and baked bread. It tastes more of a Christmas special brew than a tripel. Nice in its own place, not out of the ordinary.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours deep amber, beautiful, with fine white foam. Aroma is yeasty, fruity of plum. Body is just fairly dense, with good carbonation. Taste is intensely bitter, for a Belgian-style beer. Some sweetness too, in the beginning. Finish is pretty long and bitter.
