“Beer?” says Sean. Sophia responds, “Nah…just gonna head home, take a bath and burn my lady candle.” Sean looks confused, “Burn your lady candle?!”. Packed full of mango and tangerine, this sour is lit, like Sophia’s lady candle.

Light haze and yellow, with not much head. Light mango...won’t say there’s much else...sort of a simple kettle sour. Light mango, mellow tartness, touch yeasty. Seems basic, seems like this could have been done better.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dull greenish blond with no head. It has a decent aroma from the fruit, but of lactic acid, but the very low carbonation creates an oily mouthfeel, the flavour is not interesting. Like any other BC sour.
Mediocre.

On tap at Backcountry, pours an opaque, filthy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of mango and stone fruit pith. Flavour is like drinking mango juice upfront, with plenty of pith. Barely a beer - more like drinking mango juice. Fun. --- Beer merged from original tick of Burning My Lady Candle on 14 Jul 2019 at 18:55 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: On tap at Backcountry, pours a hazy yellowish blonde, with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto upfront, with some tart stone fruits. Flavour reveals tart stone fruits, with lacto and bright citrus. Lots of tropical stone fruits on the finish. Pretty decent.
