Bold and formidable, the Leviathan packages deep, dark flavours with a full mouthfeel. Some roast flavours, coffee undertones, a hint of caramel and a viscous mouthfeel. It’s heavy, but sessionable for those who believe in themselves.

Can. Black with a cm of tan head. Lightish aroma is roasty with mocha, some berries, cream. More grunt upon a sip with heavier roast, some soy sauce and a metallic touch, dark chocolate, some overt alcohol. Bitterness is strongish and quells the sweetness well. No great depth but fair enough.

473ml can. (8.5% ABV) Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, brown head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, ash, earth and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, lactose, vanilla, licorice, earth and oats with a mild bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Delicious, nicely done. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

On tap at New Level, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out robust roasted malt, with some cocoa and light espresso. Flavour is quite robust, with rich roasted malt upfront, followed by gently sweet cocoa, and dusty espresso. A little sweet, with a roasted finish. Heavy and deep. Nice stuff.
