Luminous Flux began its life in an old Merlot barrel as a mixed culture beer brewed with a high percentage of buckwheat. Locally grown Montmorency cherries were added whole directly into the barrel and left to macerate for the following 7 months.
The resulting beer is tart and funky, with bright sour cherry notes and mild brettanomyces character with a hint of oak and cinnamon-esque pit character
Luminous Flux is bottle conditioned and contains 6% alcohol by volume. It was released 6/02/19 and was entirely sold out of the tasting room at Luppolo.

Ciut octowe, ewidentnie winne, ze to wisnie bym nie zgadl, ale jakas owocowosc sie paleta, kapke sianowate, bardzo wytrawne. Ciekawe bardziej niz smaczne, ale i owszem, smaczne tez.

Draught at Luppolo, Vancouver
Cloudy golden colour. Sharply acidic and astringent, the cherry is present, although I think cherries perform better with some sugar, harsh barrel, light funk in the finish.
Good.

Pale pinkish and hazy, has a nice fruity note, mellow cherry, nice almondy cherry note. Quite tart.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite earthy - the cherries aren't very noticeable, nor is the wine, but there is some gentle tartness and wild character. Flavour is quite different, with tons of the Montmorency cherries revealing themselves upfront, accentuated by gentle vinous and woody notes, and an earthy, musty, grape skin character. Those cherries provide more proof of their top quality. Lovely.

Light red fruit. Pinkish orange with a small white head. Soured red fruit with a bone dry almost barrel note finish.

Taster shared with Alex. Appearance: rose golden with a white head. Aroma: some cherries and wood. Taste: same, almost flat. Overall: pretty good, I would just prefer more fruity character.
