Overzealous head, yellowish, very dense, over copper-golden beer, well-carbonated; classic lace. Mushrooms - old ones - volatile, followed by parsley, fresh malts, hint at lactic acid. Burnt malts, overdone toaste, caramel, with a bitter presence. Alcohol in the background, as well as a buttery caramel flavour. Bit burning MF, medium bodied at best (8% ABV!), spritzy. Pretty dull - and again, what was the idea? A Spéciale Belge, even plainer than Palm; just as Palm is going to let its Royale referment?
