Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is malt and nuts. The flavour is bittler but light. The nuts are there but its well hidden. Not a favourite.

33cl Bottle from Mitra Rokin. Dark brown colour, dense beige head. Aroma is very malty, raisins, bitter chocolate, touch of sweet alcohol, dark fruits, almost like a dark quad. Flavour is only light sweet, full malty, bitter chocolate, cocoa, hint of nutty bitterness, quite dry, bitter light roast in the finish with a bit of laurel. Medium-bodied at best. Nice, but couldn’t distinguish any chestnuts.

Thanks to bierkoning for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, brownish head. Starts intense malty, modest sweet, hints of caramel. Finish less sweet, more spicy, mild-bitter background. Nice!

Dark brown colour. Typical bitter-sweet, malty bock. The chestnut presence comes through more in the creamy, oily texture than the actual flavour.

Tap @ Bokbier Festival. Deep red brown color, clear. Off white head. Aroma’s: malty sweet, cooked vegetables, drop/laurel, herbal. Flavor is very lightly sweet (almost neutral). Medium bodied. Finishes with a nice bitterness, which is the best part of this beer. Overall a bit disappointing.

33cl bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Hazy red-brown color, small to medium sized beige head that diminishes quickly. Smell malts, sweetness and indeed something that resembles ’kastanje’. Taste malts, some hop-influences, sweeetness and slightly nuts (I guess it might be ’kastanje’ again). A bit bitter finish, medium body and carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Hazy brown, lacing light brown head. Smells some poop, some nut, some wood. Tastes a bit dull. Some (green) wood, slightly sweet and a bit watery. Soft mouthfeel, thin to medium body.
