(Keg at Kitty’s, 20131125) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice and chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, saltiness, ash, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had roasted malt, liquorice and bitterness. A very tasty and balanced roasty brew.

Bottle at De Molen, November 2013 Second Tuesday Tasting. Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a thin light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt coffee. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a watery liqourice palate. Medium bodied, low carbonation and soft carbonation.

Dark brown/black. Some beige foam. Medium carbonation. Very well balanced beer. Full body. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, honey, roasted malt and some smokiness. Sweet (but not too) and bitter aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown/black with no head. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla. Near full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, burnt malt, some vanilla. Seems to have fruit of the lighter sort. Even perhaps citrus in the finish. Surprisingly complicated. Good stuff.

Bottled 330ml. -at La Cerveteca Barcelona. Black as oil with medium sized brownish head and slight roasty nose with notes of bread. Strong roasted malt, dark chocolate and bread with notes of coffee and mild alcohol presence. Bitter and also roasted finish. Well balanced and really good Italian porter.
