Just in time for 4/20 and in celebration of legalization (which we’re still totally amazed by), Alter Ego is dank AF, hoppy as hell, and showcasing the classic hop combo of Columbus, Chinook and Simcoe, with a wee bit of Citra for a splash of the juice. At a reasonable, non-too-hefty 6.8%, you’ll be three deep of these before you realize you’re in a totally different psychic universe – THE DRUNKENVERSE.

Pours with firm and big foam, nice cloudy light orange body. Soft hops on the nose, semi-sweet, not overly candyish nor oily. Flavour is nice hops with just the right amount of juiciness and sweetness. Good mouthfeel, refreshing without residual sugar and oiliness. A well made IPA.

Can from Firefly, Vancouver
Cloudy to murky blond colour. The aroma is moderately juicy with a sweet citrus accent. The mouthfeel is rather dry, the malt is not very expressive, it almost seems rice or other cereal, the hopping is less juicy than expected, with a moderate astringency in the finish and chalk.
Ok beer.

Can, Firefly. Slight haze, thin head. Has a nice orangey, grapefruity aroma. Low bitterness, but a decent fresh hop character. Touch of yeast, and a mellow pale malt note. Solid.

473mL can, pours an opaque dull golden orange with a large white head. Aroma brings out plenty of dank hops, pithy stone fruits, and bready malt. Flavour is very juicy, with tons of tropical pithy stone fruits upfront, followed by pleasantly bitter citrusy and piney hops, and just enough biscuity malt. Finished mega-juicy and nicely bitter. Excellent.

Citrus, dank and some pith. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Citrus and a light creamy pithy note with some dank again. Solid.
